Salary: $22.00 ($23.00 After Probation)
Reports To: Respite Support Manager

About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or older adults? We are currently seeking a Respite Support Worker to provide short-term relief for primary caregivers. As a Respite Support Worker, you will support individuals with daily living activities, offer companionship, and ensure their emotional and physical well-being. Your work will provide caregivers with much-needed breaks, while helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and fulfilling environment for those in need of care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and mobility support according to care plans.
· Daily Living Support: Help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other tasks to promote the individual's independence.
· Health & Safety: Monitor health conditions, administer medication (if required), and follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.
· Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations and activities, providing emotional support and fostering social interaction.
· Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle medical or other emergencies by following procedures and contacting medical professionals when needed.
· Communication: Maintain clear communication with the family or primary caregivers, providing updates and reporting any changes in the individual’s condition.
Qualifications:
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certifications in caregiving (experience will be considered.)
· Experience: Previous caregiving or respite care experience preferred. Experience with individuals with disabilities, chronic illness, or older adults is an asset.
· Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to follow care plans, patient and empathetic demeanor.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with mobility and personal care tasks. Some light lifting may be required.
· Availability: Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, based on the needs of the individual.
· Criminal Record Check: Acceptable Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable record
· Drivers license: Valid Drivers License
· First Aid & CPR: Valid First Aid & CPR
