About the Role
Position Summary
Maritime Respite Services is seeking a highly motivated Area Manager (Working) to lead the launch and growth of our Home Support and Respite Services in Pictou County. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will both manage operations and provide direct client support as needed.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives while building and supporting a strong team.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations within the service area
Lead, support, and supervise Home Support/Respite staff
Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members
Ensure staff scheduling meets client needs and service standards
Support staff performance through coaching, training, and evaluation
Client Care & Service Delivery
Ensure high-quality, person-centered care for all clients
Conduct client intakes, assessments, and care plan development
Step in to provide direct care coverage when required
Maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community partners
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and provincial standards
Monitor documentation, incident reporting, and quality assurance
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism
Business Development
Support community outreach and growth initiatives in the region
Build relationships with referral sources and community organizations
Assist in expanding services and identifying new opportunities
